What do you see?

When you look at me, what do you see?

Can you tell what it is I long to be?

Can you see my soul?

Can you feel the toll?

Can you reach out to set me free?

Look deep within my eyes

Look past the my fake disguise

Can you feel my heart

Fall all apart

And see my souls compromise

Answers Anyone?

I have a question

There is no answer to

A question of death

What on earth will I do

Some people claim

The answer is straight from the book

But which book is real

Let me take a look

One claims the truth

While the other must be a lie

But what’s one to believe

As they watch life pass them by

Good deeds or Bad

Prophets and saints

All the stories and verses

The book continually paints

Jesus you must believe

But some say no way

My mind is all twisted

Does God want it this way

Why’s it so complicated

Don’t feed me this stuff

I just want a simple answer

Isn’t that enough

Do you think God is laughing

Or maybe He weeps

That I don’t understand it

Or take any faith leaps

I’m just looking for an answer

It shouldn’t be that painful

To find out what happens

When all this is over

Perhaps we’re all wrong

Or maybe we’re all right

Every path is different

To finding the light

I can only hope

That when our time has come

That God sees us fit

To bring us home

The hustle and bustle

Of everything that’s fast

Watching all this stuff around me

That never seems to last

The world spins day by day

Feeling a lonely sense of loss

And then softly you whisper “I love you”

Among all this worldly chaos

Your kiss stops time in front of me

My breath will never be caught

And everything I don’t understand

Seems but a fleeting thought

This world is full of hate

But I don’t pay much attention

I’m busy lost in your kiss

And also not to mention

All your words of hope & promise

In a dream I’d longed to come true

Everything I found in love

I found it special in you

Feeling loss and gain

Sadness overcome with happy tears

Wondering where she’s been for all these years

Lost in a sea of emotion

You can’t make sense of it

A spell of love potion

She casts upon you a light

Or was she forever whispering

Her quiet love song

Look into her eyes

Take down your disguise

And let it all go

Trusting her, you let her sing to you

A song you’ve never heard

And you focus

Intently

On every single word

She tells you of her past

And everything that’s wrong

And everything you make right

As she sings her quiet love song

She is everything you missed

In an imaginary world

To the Internet void we hurled

Random people we meet

Thinking we all know ‘em

They wanna be our friend

They even know our name

But watch out for their world

And their silly little game

They’re here to destroy us

And get deep in our heart

And believe in the lies

The rip us apart

This isn’t real life

The monitor we see

Open your doors

And look for me

Real life is my smile

And the fact that I cry

Real life is the wind

That blows dust in my eye

Real life is my love

That I protect in my soul

And watch slowly grow

And make me whole

Real life is my words

When I can say them out loud

And not this silly poem
